Professor Haase is well known for his inventive restaurant interior designs,
including such popular and upscale Columbus venues as Martini Ristorante,
Cap City Diner and Columbus Brewing Company. As a principle, lead designer
and project coordinator at Design Collective Inc., many of his interior
designs were featured in professional periodicals and books. These include
such leading publications as INTERIORS & SOURCES HOSPITALITY DESIGN,
THEME RESTAURANT DESIGN, and INTERIORS. Several of his works have been
honored with awards -- Children's Hospital M.U.S.C. in South Carolina
won "Best of Show" at the 1987 CID/IBDF Design Award Ceremony,
Central Ohio Chapter; and Martini Ristorante & Bar in Columbus won
"Honorable Mention" in the 1998 IIDA/CID Awards, OHIO/Kentucky
Chapter. His current areas of research is exploring alternative representation
techniques, understanding perceptions of place and Wayfinding research
using virtual immersion software and hardware.
