Admission to the graduate program
is highly competitive and based on a review of a formal
application package. To gain admission to the graduate
program, an applicant must hold a bachelor's degree in
design or a closely allied field from an accredited college
or university. Professional work experience prior to
candidacy is strongly advised, although not necessarily
a requirement. An analysis of the candidate's undergraduate
work in design (and any professional work) will be made
to determine his or her proficiency level. A portfolio
and statement of intent that describes your educational,
research and career objectives, and reasons for wishing
to pursue graduate work in the Department of Industrial,
Interior and Visual Communication Design at The Ohio
State University are required.
